Scholarly Databases

Academic Search Complete

  • Comprehensive, multi-disciplinary general database
  • Access to more than 5,890 full-text scholarly journals.


ProQuest Research Library

  • General, multi-disciplinary database with full-text access to over 4,500 publications
  • Includes popular magazines like Essense and Vanity Fair as well as academic journals.


  • Great resource for art, history, literature, general and social science
  • Access to over 2,000 full-text scholarly journals


Project MUSE

  • Use this database for literature and criticism, political science, history, performing arts, cultural studies, education, philosophy, and gender studies
  • Includes access to 600 full-text scholarly journals


Newspapers can be a great source of information for current issues and events. As well as gaining contemporary accounts and reactions to historic events.

New York Times

  • Complete text of The New York Times going back to 1980.
  • The New York Times Book Review and Sunday Magazine are also available
